2GO OUT Consulting was involved in the preparation of the D-NOSES Project application, approved by Horizon 2020, which has 14 partners from 8 countries of the European Union and 1 from Chile. This project was approved with a maximum grade (15/15) and was the only Call-approved application to which it was submitted (H2020-SwafS-2016-17: Science with and for Society). The kick-off meeting will take place April 25-26 in London.

D-USES PROJECT

The D-NOSES - Decentralised Network for Odor Sensing, Empowerment and Sustainability project aims to change the way odor pollution is currently addressed at all levels of government (European, national and local).

The D-NOSES project will share scientific expertise in odor detection and monitoring with the public, which will play a very relevant role in a number of local case studies that will be developed under D-NOSES. In Portugal, two practical cases will be developed, one of them in S. João da Madeira.

The D-NOSES project will empower local communities affected by odor pollution to drive change by supporting them in gathering evidence about the problem. Once the problem has been identified and characterized, D-NOSES project partners will work with local communities and other stakeholders to design possible solutions to the problem in an innovative approach to co-creation.

The results of the D-NOSES project are intended to be taken into account in future plans to reduce odor pollution, contributing to the development of a standard regulatory framework and influencing public policies at local, national level. and European.

It is worth mentioning the participation of three Portuguese entities in the D-NOSES project consortium, namely the LIPOR - Inter-municipal Waste Management Service of Greater Porto, the Municipality of S. João da Madeira and the APEA - Portuguese Association for Environmental Engineering.
